Siemens Healthineers Makes CISCE Debut, Deepens Full-Value-Chain Localization

The fourth China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) opened in Beijing on June 22, 2026, featuring six major chains — digital technology, advanced manufacturing, green agriculture, healthy living, intelligent vehicles, and clean energy — as well as a supply chain services exhibition area. Siemens Healthineers made its debut at the five-day expo under the theme “Intelligent Connectivity for Health · Co-creating a New Future,” showcasing its six R&D and manufacturing bases, domestically produced advanced medical equipment, and sustainability initiatives.

On the first day of the expo, Siemens Healthineers announced plans to expand investment in its Wuxi R&D and manufacturing facility in Jiangsu province, East China, with new production lines to be built over the next two years and production capacity to be steadily increased over five years. The company also unveiled its domestically produced wide-body photon-counting CT (PCCT), the NAEOTOM Alpha.Prime, and signed a technology innovation agreement with Baosteel. These moves underscore Siemens Healthineers’ accelerated push to deepen full-value-chain localization, spanning from core components to complete systems and from R&D to services.

Siemens Healthineers has already established a complete value chain in China with a localization rate exceeding 80% across its supply chain. The company operates six R&D and manufacturing bases, with over 150 products now manufactured locally and exported to more than 150 countries and regions. In Beijing, its oncology medical base has built a complete closed loop, spanning from core components and hardware to finished systems and software, becoming one of the world’s most comprehensive radiotherapy R&D and manufacturing centers. In Shenzhen, its magnetic resonance base — the company’s only global facility with a complete value chain — has full R&D and production capabilities ranging from 1.5T to 7T, achieving full localization of its MRI system lineup.

On the expo’s opening day, Siemens Healthineers’ Wuxi base signed an investment cooperation agreement with the Wuxi National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone Management Committee, further deepening the localization of core components for high-end medical devices in China. In recent years, the Wuxi base has achieved breakthroughs in localizing critical components, including X-ray tubes and high-voltage generators for high-end CT systems, cardiovascular interventional systems, general radiography systems, and radiotherapy equipment. These localization efforts have not only accelerated Siemens Healthineers’ own domestic manufacturing capabilities but have also supported the broader development of China’s medical equipment industry by supplying high-quality key components to other domestic medical imaging equipment manufacturers.

Wang Hao, President of Siemens Healthineers Greater China and a member of the Global Leadership Committee, said the expo is becoming an important platform for promoting global supply chain cooperation, and the company sees it as an opportunity to showcase its achievements in supply chain localization, medical technology innovation, and green sustainable development. He noted that looking ahead to the 15th Five-Year Plan period, Siemens Healthineers will continue to deepen full-value-chain localization in step with the country’s strategy to strengthen and supplement industrial chains, positioning itself as a committed co-builder of China’s healthcare industry chain. Wang also emphasized that the company’s push to localize core components is not only a strategic choice but also a necessary step to enhance the security and resilience of the domestic high-end medical equipment industry supply chain.

The domestically produced wide-body photon-counting CT NAEOTOM Alpha.Prime, unveiled at the expo, represents a significant milestone in localizing high-end imaging equipment. With its high-resolution imaging capabilities, the system can be applied across multiple clinical scenarios, including cardiovascular disease, oncology, neurology, and radiotherapy planning, supporting early disease detection and precision diagnosis. Siemens Healthineers expects to launch two photon-counting CT products in the domestic market this year. In the field of brain-computer interfaces — a future industry highlighted in the 15th Five-Year Plan — the NAEOTOM Alpha series, with its ultra-high resolution, enhances cranial and cerebrovascular imaging, providing critical imaging support for BCI clinical research. Siemens Healthineers is also collaborating with several renowned neurology hospitals and startups to advance clinical and translational BCI research using its medical imaging platforms.

On the sustainability front, Siemens Healthineers’ Shanghai R&D and manufacturing base signed a technology innovation agreement with Baosteel on the expo’s opening day. The partnership focuses on low-carbon materials, digital simulation, and mechanical design innovation to drive green technology breakthroughs and reduce the lifecycle carbon footprint of medical equipment. The company also showcased its DryCool magnet technology at the expo, which reduces MRI system energy consumption by over 40% and cuts liquid helium usage from 1,500 liters to just 0.7 liters. Its Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Beijing bases have all been certified as National Green Factories for 2024.

Siemens Healthineers said it will continue to seize strategic opportunities during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, leveraging policy support and industrial advantages to expand its innovation network and industrial partnerships in China. The company aims to bring more innovative outcomes to market and contribute to building a secure, resilient, and sustainable healthcare ecosystem.
