Glooko has announced the commercial launch of Glooko EndoTool IV Cloud, its FDA 510(k)-cleared, SaaS-based inpatient IV insulin dosing solution. The platform combines EndoTool’s patient-specific clinical intelligence with a modern clinical experience and cloud architecture designed to simplify deployment, reduce technical complexity, and support health-system scale.

Inpatient glycemic management remains a system-level challenge, with clinicians required to respond to changing patient conditions while managing the risk of both hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia within high-acuity workflows. Patient complexity can make glycemic control less predictable, while variability across protocols, handoffs, and clinical interpretation can create additional burden for care teams. The launch also comes as severe hypoglycemia and severe hyperglycemia are increasingly visible as hospital quality priorities, including through CMS Hospital Harm electronic clinical quality measures.

Glooko EndoTool IV Cloud calculates a patient-specific insulin dosing model using available patient demographics and laboratory values, continually updating that model based on factors such as current glucose trends, kidney function, and changes in insulin sensitivity over time. The SaaS product includes a redesigned clinical experience with a streamlined user experience featuring minimal screens and clicks, consolidated access to key dosing information, and workflow design intended to reduce cognitive disruption at the bedside.

The platform eliminates the on-premises technology footprint and is built to meet hospital security expectations, with SOC 2 Type II certification and safeguards designed to protect patient information and support HIPAA compliance. Glooko noted that the foundational EndoTool clinical decision support algorithm has an established track record of helping hospitals improve glycemic management, including reducing hypoglycemia, achieving target glucose levels faster, and reducing the number of glucose checks required, and that in 2025 EndoTool IV customer outcomes data, the average severe hypoglycemia rate below 40 mg/dL was 0.006% across EndoTool IV customers.

Paul Chidester, M.D., Medical Director of EndoTool at Glooko, said managing IV insulin safely means responding to how an individual patient changes over time, not simply applying the same static protocol to everyone. Chidester noted that EndoTool is designed to continuously adapt its dosing model to each patient’s response, and that with Glooko EndoTool IV Cloud, the company is preserving that clinical logic, safety guardrails, and decision-support approach while giving clinicians a more streamlined experience that makes key information easier to access at the bedside.

Mike Alvarez, Chief Executive Officer of Glooko, said health systems today need technology that helps clinicians manage complex care more consistently and can be deployed and supported without adding unnecessary friction. Alvarez noted that Glooko EndoTool IV Cloud brings together EndoTool’s patient-specific clinical intelligence with a modern SaaS experience designed for today’s hospital clinical and technical teams, and that it is an important step in Glooko’s mission to simplify diabetes and glycemic care and help customers scale trusted clinical value across the enterprise.
