Philips Launches UniGuide 3D Live Guidance in Europe and Other CE-Marked Markets

飞利浦 has announced the launch of UniGuide 3D Live Guidance in Europe and other CE-marked markets. Built on the Philips Azurion image-guided therapy platform, the CE-marked solution brings pre-procedural planning insights directly into the live procedure, allowing physicians to access planning information where treatment decisions are made.
Interventional care increasingly depends on combining information from multiple imaging sources. UniGuide represents a step toward a more connected interventional ecosystem, enabling physicians to access relevant planning information within the same workflow they use to guide treatment. The first release connects pre-procedural CT insights to the live Azurion workflow, supporting patient-specific treatment decisions in PCI, structural heart, and complex vascular procedures. CT imaging provides detailed 3D insights before an intervention, helping physicians assess vessel characteristics and plan treatment strategies, but those insights are often reviewed separately from the systems used during the procedure, requiring physicians to switch between platforms and mentally correlate planning information with live image guidance. Integrated directly into the Azurion environment, UniGuide addresses this by making relevant CT-derived information available within the workflow physicians already use. For coronary interventions, insights derived from a coronary CT angiography scan performed before PCI can be combined with live image guidance through 3D overlay visualization or synchronized side-by-side display, enabling physicians to access vessel information and additional CT-derived insights, including plaque characteristics, during the procedure.
UniGuide supports an open planning ecosystem that allows healthcare providers to use planning insights from the Philips Advanced Visualization Workspace and compatible third-party solutions within the live Azurion workflow. Fully integrated into the Azurion workflow, UniGuide enables physicians to access CT and planning information on the large FlexVision display and interact with 3D guidance via the tableside Touch Screen Module. A Philips usability study found that 93% of participating clinicians believed bringing planning information into the procedural workflow could improve cath lab efficiency and performance. Additionally, 80% of clinicians indicated UniGuide’s automation and intuitive user experience could help physicians maintain focus during procedures. UniGuide is CE-marked and will be available for sale in CE-marked markets starting October 23, 2026. It is not currently available for sale in the United States.
Prof. Javier Escaned, MD, PhD, Head of the Interventional Cardiology Section at Hospital Clínico San Carlos and Complutense University in Madrid, said bringing CT into the cath lab creates a significant opportunity for patients who have already undergone CT imaging. Escaned noted that access to the CT angiogram allows clinicians to assess relevant aspects of the vessels to be treated, improve procedural planning, and improve precision of the intervention, and that reviewing specific aspects of the CT inside the cath lab using the table-side touchscreen and synchronizing the movement of the 3D CT rendering with the C-arm contribute to better guidance and higher precision.
Darshan Doshi, Interventional Cardiologist and Chief Medical Officer for Image Guided Therapy Devices at Philips, said the company is increasingly able to understand a patient’s anatomy and plan complex procedures well before the patient enters the interventional suite. Doshi noted that with UniGuide, Philips is putting that knowledge to work during treatment, connecting CT planning with live guidance to help physicians make more informed, patient-specific decisions.
