NeuroXess Raises 700 Million Yuan Series B to Scale BCI Manufacturing and Clinical Trials

Shanghai-based NeuroXess has announced the completion of a 700 million yuan (~$100M) Series B financing round co-led by SDIC Juli, Shenzhen Capital Group, and TRIWISE Capital, with investors spanning state-owned platforms, semiconductor industry capital, healthcare capital, and hard-tech investment institutions, reflecting a multi-tiered investment structure across sectors. The company said the financing reflects the brain-computer interface (BCI) sector’s transition from concept validation to industrialization and positions NeuroXess as a core target in the field, given its full-stack in-house development capabilities, defined regulatory clinical pathway, and progress toward industrialization.
Proceeds will be used for multi-center clinical trials and regulatory approval of NeuroXess’s “three-fully” brain-computer interface system, described as fully implanted, fully wireless, and fully functional, as well as for construction of a mass-production super factory and R&D of next-generation products and BCI-plus-AI exploration. The company has begun construction of a super factory with a planned area of 14,300 square meters and a target capacity of 10,000 units.
In clinical validation, NeuroXess has completed 65 clinical trials. On July 7, 2026, the company formally launched a GCP-registered clinical trial of its three-fully BCI system at Huashan Hospital affiliated with Fudan University, led by Professor Mao Ying’s team in collaboration with nearly 20 Tier 3A hospitals nationwide. The company described the product as China’s first subdural semi-invasive BCI to enter the national Class III medical device registration clinical stage.
Tao Hu, Founder, CEO, and Chief Scientist of NeuroXess, stated that the financing will accelerate its transition from clinical validation to large-scale application. NeuroXess remains committed to achieving better clinical outcomes more safely, enabling patients to return to life with quality and dignity. Tao added that the company will connect its supply chain and expand its ecosystem to make BCI an interface between the brain and the real world, exploring BCI+AI physical world models, and that the BCI sector is broad enough to require diverse approaches.
