The McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) is one of North America’s largest and most advanced academic health networks, internationally recognized for excellence in patient care, research, and education. As a major hub of clinical innovation, MUHC brings together some of Montreal’s leading hospitals, including the Montreal Children’s Hospital, Montreal General Hospital, Royal Victoria Hospital, Montreal Neurological Hospital, Montreal Chest Institute, and Lachine Hospital. Its mission is to deliver care informed by the latest medical knowledge while driving discoveries that shape the future of healthcare.
Serving both Montreal and the broader province of Quebec, MUHC provides tertiary and quaternary care — complex, specialized services that encompass major surgeries, emergency interventions, and advanced treatments. It is also designated to offer bilingual care, providing services in both English and French. The Centre supports seven clinical missions and over 70 specialty services across its hospital network, ensuring comprehensive and accessible healthcare for diverse patient needs.
The Research Institute of the MUHC is a globally respected center for biomedical and healthcare research, maintaining collaborations in 70 countries worldwide. Its team includes over 680 researchers and nearly 1,650 research trainees, producing more than 2,600 peer-reviewed publications annually.
