Cognito Therapeutics Raises $105M Series C to Advance Alzheimer’s Neurotechnology Platform

Cambridge, MA-based Cognito Therapeutics has raised $105 million in an oversubscribed Series C financing round to support the development of its investigational neurotechnology platform for Alzheimer’s disease. The round was led by Morningside Ventures, IAG Capital Partners, and Starbloom Capital, with participation from new investors including New Vintage, Apollo Health Ventures, and Benvolio Group.

The funding will help Cognito Therapeutics advance its Spectris platform toward regulatory submission and potential commercialization, as well as support ongoing clinical development and preparations for a possible market launch targeted for 2027. In addition, the company plans to expand research on the Spectris platform for other neurodegenerative conditions through collaborations with institutions such as the West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute.

Spectris is an investigational, physician-prescribed therapy designed for use at home. The system uses non-invasive visual and auditory stimulation intended to trigger coordinated neural activity across brain networks. Researchers are studying whether this stimulation can help preserve cognition, daily function, and brain structure in people diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.

Spectris has the potential to become the world’s first physician-prescribed, at-home neuroprotective therapy for patients diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, designed to preserve cognition and daily function. The company’s HOPE pivotal clinical study evaluating Spectris has completed enrollment, and top-line results are expected later this year. The study is intended to provide evidence supporting future regulatory submissions. Spectris remains an investigational device and has not yet been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
